METANOIA GESTALT PSYCHOTHERAPY SUPERVISORS

We are currently in the process of recruiting Gestalt Psychotherapists at Metanoia Institute to supervise students on our Gestalt Psychotherapy training programme.

Below is an outline of the application process and the minimum criteria that must be met for any submission to be reviewed and assessed.

Application Process

Please provide a statement of 500 words describing your approach to supervision and working with supervisees from a Gestalt perspective.

When submitting your C.V., please demonstrate how you meet the Gestalt Supervisors criteria below. We also require 2 references, 1 from a supervisor and another from someone who knows your work well.

Your application will be reviewed by the Head of Gestalt Department, Billy Desmond, and members of the tutoring team. You will then be informed of the outcome. If successful, we will then send you a detailed information pack that outlines further our requirements.

Please send your application to Sarah Osman, Gestalt Academic Coordinator

Some supervisors may be approved to provide a maximum of 50 hours of supervision with any trainee based on their newness to the Metanoia programme or their supervisory experience.   Transfer from the ‘50 hour’s list’ to the main supervisor’s list will be reviewed regularly and is based on the following:

- A minimum of 80 hours supervision experience with gestalt trainees/graduates or equivalent.

- A report from their supervisor of supervision including validation of competence to supervise a range of trainees.  We would expect, particularly for less experienced supervisors, that they will have shared tape-work of sessions with their supervisor of supervision.

- Feedback from supervisees.
