The purpose of my work is to bring about change – which allows people to be inspired, to have access to their own potential, to be able to express themselves fully throughout their daily lives and to grow to respect and be in tune with their environment. As such it is part of a much wider, far reaching vision. As individuals we have much to learn about ourselves through therapy – finding and developing our strengths, overcoming our wounds and history and learning how to gain fulfillment in our lives. Any changes which occur in the therapy room can have a pleasing cathartic effect, with great short term benefits, but of themselves are not likely to be of lasting worth unless they take into account your context (world), and are taken forth into your relationships, communities, and immediate environment. Doing this enables us to see that the benefits of our changes have a far reaching and spreading influence beyond ourselves, confirming that we have tapped into something deep and significant.

I have 26 years of experience. I have worked as a full-time therapist since 1997, in the areas of mental health, children and families, domestic violence, the educational sector and with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and have extensive experience of working cross-culturally. Having worked with 1000+ clients in many settings, I have considerable experience with pretty much most issues. While I consider my specialism to be people, and I like a variety of work with different issues, I do have a specialism in the areas of autism, existential issues (what is it all about?), eco-grief, and working with creative people and related issues (creative blocks, lack of motivation etc).

The environment has a huge impact upon us, it being our life support system it has huge importance in our well-being and it enhances the therapeutic work. Consequently I increasingly do my therapy work outdoors. My work is split between therapy and supervision (both currently face to face, over zoom and outdoors) and training.
