Executive Council Members
Magda Powell – Co-chair
Magda joined the GPTI Executive Committee in 2021 in the role of ordinary member. Following the GPTI conference in 2025 she became the co-chair of the Executive Committee. Magda is a Gestalt psychotherapist and supervisor based in Worcestershire. Her professional interest is somatic work.
Jane Flint – Co-chair

I joined the GPTI Executive Council in 2022 as the Accredited Member Rep, having previously served as a Trainee Representative on the Council two decades earlier. I have over 30 years of experience as a therapist working in a variety of settings, including the NHS, the voluntary sector, and private practice.
My particular interests include working with gender variance, life-limiting conditions, and the impact of domestic abuse.
Rebecca Oaks – Secretary
I am an accredited Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a private practice, based around Morecambe Bay. Having come from a background in woodland management and running an apprenticeship scheme, I have a wealth of experience both in training and governance. I am passionate about the biosphere and look to Gestalt therapy to find meaning, solace and healing for my heart.
Naomi Anderson – Treasurer
I am an accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist with GPTI and UKCP. I am also a supervisor, and HCPC registered Educational Psychologist. I am retired from full-time employment but still working part-time and self-employed. I practice near Matlock Derbyshire and online. I bring all my life experiences to my work which include Gestalt, understanding child development and how we learn and engage with the world, and a lifetime of studying psychology from a holistic and humanistic perspective. I am looking forward to taking on the role of treasurer in support of GPTI.
Liselle Van Zyl – Accredited Member Representative
Liselle is an accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist with GPTI and the UKCP. In 2025, she joined the GPTI Executive Committee as an accredited member. She works in private practice in London and online, offering a holistic and relational approach to therapy. Her interests are wide-ranging, and she has undertaken extensive training in trauma-informed practice.
Liselle is delighted to join the Executive Committee and looks forward to contributing to and supporting GPTI’s ongoing work.
Justine Boardman – Trainee Member Representative
Helena Trebar – Ordinary Member
Helena has been part of the GPTI Executive Committee since 2020, initially as a Trainee Representative and a Co-editor of the quarterly Newsletter. Upon accrediting as a gestalt therapist in Autumn 2025, she took on the role of an Ordinary Member and is a GPTI delegate of HIPC (Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College) of UKCP.
