About my practice

Hi I'm Carole, I have been working as a psychotherapist for over twenty years. My background is in nursing, midwifery and as a University lecturer in psychology and counselling. I offer a supportive space where you can slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and begin to reconnect with yourself and what matters to you. Gestalt psychotherapy is an experiential and relational approach that invites us to become more aware of ourselves, our feelings, our bodies and the ways we relate to others and the world around us. Rather than focusing only on what has happened in the past or what might happen in the future, we pay attention to what is happening for you in the present moment. This can help us recognise patterns, understand how you have learned to cope, and discover new possibilities for living and relating. My approach is embodied, creative and experimental. Alongside talking, we may explore feelings, sensations, images, movement or creative ways of expressing what is difficult to put into words. These explorations are always guided by your needs, your pace and what feels right for you. I see therapy as a collaborative process. I will bring my experience, curiosity and presence, while respecting your individuality and your capacity to discover what is meaningful for you. There is no expectation that you should be a certain way or arrive at a particular outcome.
